Gov. McMaster Holds Press Conference

Governor Henry McMaster held a press conference today, briefing the public on the upcoming Hurricane Season.

He said the meteorologist expect hurricane season a little early this year.

Ken Stenson, director of the state Emergency Management Division , said each person must be their own emergency manager.

He encouraged the public to remember Time, Space, People, and Place.

Time stands for leaving enough time to prepare before a hurricane.

Space stands for planning to allow for social distancing.

People stands for ensuring everyone in your family knows your plan.

Place stands for knowing exactly where to go when evacuation orders are issued.

Leaders from the National Guard said it is important when evacuating to following the blue signs not GPS devices.
