Released from the Phoenix Center.

Opioid related overdoses are increasing across the state and in Greenville County.

Greenville County alone had a total of 131 Opioid related deaths in 2018 (101 of those from Fentanyl), which was an increase from 107 in 2017 (39 of those from Fentanyl).

The Phoenix Center is responding with not only Opioid specific services and programs, but a message of collaboration, partnership, and hope.

We know there is no one program that is going to meet all the needs of all the people who are seeking substance use services.

There is no one pathway to recovery because each individual is different with different needs.

At the Phoenix Center, we provide innovative and evidence based prevention and treatment programs for those are looking for a traditional office based treatment setting.

Some Opioid specific programs and services offered at the Phoenix Center include:

• Narcan® (a tool used to treat an Opioid overdose in an emergency situation) – Free Education and Distribution to the Community

• Medication Assisted Treatment – Offered Monday through Friday to help manage cravings and withdrawals from Opioids

• ECHO Rx Coalition (Empowering Communities for Healthy Outcomes Coalition) – Community Coalition working toward the prevention of prescription Opioid drug misuse/abuse

The Phoenix Center also works with local partners to provide services and access to Narcan® at their sites to improve access and reduce barriers.

Some local partners who are benefitting from onsite services and Narcan® distribution include Freedom Recovery House, Project Host Soup Kitchen, Triune Mercy Center, and FAVOR Greenville. ]

The Phoenix Center is actively looking for additional sites and programs who are interested in becoming a part of this important work.
