Governor Henry McMaster announced another new executive order at a media briefing Monday afternoon in response to the coronavirus outbreak.

This order gives law enforcement throughout the state the authority to prohibit or disband any gathering of three or more people. This will not affect people in their homes, workplaces or at businesses.

This is the latest order from the governor in an attempt to halt the spread of COVID-19.

“We must all assume we have the virus and we must all assume the people we are talking to have the virus,” McMaster said, urging people to stay home.

There are 298 cases of the disease in total according to the DHEC website, with 31 of these cases in Greenville.

There has also been a total of five deaths reported in the state due to the virus.
