The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office has filed additional Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor charges against a Seneca man arrested this past weekend.

On Monday of this week, the Sheriff’s Office issued a news release announcing the arrest of 34 year old David Scott Thibault on two counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor – Third Degree.  

Thibault was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 4:23am Sunday.  

Deputies from the Uniform Patrol Division began an investigation early Sunday morning regarding reports of sexual abuse regarding minors.  

Based upon evidence that was gathered during the investigation, deputies placed Thibault under arrest on charges of Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor.  

Arrest warrants were obtained by the Child/Elder Abuse investigator that charge Thibault with sexually assaulting two victims.  

As the investigation continued and based upon additional evidence obtained, the Child/Elder Abuse investigator filed additional charges against Thibault on four counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor – First Degree and two counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor – Second Degree for incidents that involved one of the minors which occurred from 2015 thru 2019.  

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation and in order to preserve the integrity of the investigation and that of the victims, the Sheriff’s Office will not be releasing any information that could potentially identify the victims in this case, which includes the relationship between the victims and the arrestee, the age of the victims, the gender or anything that could identify the gender of the victims and the location where the incidents occurred.
