Easley man crashed into deer

The coroner has released the name of an Easley man who died after hitting a deer while riding his motorcycle.

Pickens County coroner Kandy Kelley has identified the man as Mathew Meyer, age 34. Meyer was reportedly riding his Yamaha motorcycle on Dacusville Highway around 1 am when a deer ran out into the roadway.

Meyer struck the deer and was thrown from the bike.

He was not wearing a helmet when the wreck occurred, according to troopers.

Meyer was pronounced dead at the scene.
