UPDATE: Teresa Dawn Witt has been found safe.

Released by the OCSO.

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is providing an update today on a Mountain Rest woman who was reported missing Saturday by a family member.

Yesterday, the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office issued a press release seeking the public’s help in locating 39 year old Teresa Dawn Witt.

Teresa has been entered missing into the National Crimes Information Center database.

In the release, the Sheriff’s Officer reported that Teresa was last seen getting into a silver 2012 Kia Forte between 9:30pm and 10pm on Thursday, July 30th in the parking lot of a business on Highway 123 at Wells Highway.

However, new information provided by a witness states that that Teresa voluntarily got out of a vehicle, met with a man and got into another vehicle on Wednesday evening in the parking lot of a business on Highway 123 near Miracle Circle in Seneca.

Teresa has not had any contact with her family.

However, another individual reported to the Sheriff’s Office that they spoke with Teresa by phone on Friday, July 31st and that Teresa reported that she was okay.

According to information obtained by deputies, Teresa left willingly and at this time, deputies do not believe that foul play is involved.

The Sheriff’s Office would like to hear from Teresa to make sure that she is okay and safe.
