A deputy assigned to the P.A.C.E. (Pro-Active Criminal Enforcement) team initiated a traffic stop on a black in color 2010 Hyundai Genesis sedan yesterday afternoon on Highlands Highway near Playground Road, which is near Walhalla, due to a traffic violation.

During the course of the traffic stop, Black told deputies that there was an illegal substance inside of the vehicle.

A K-9 unit that was deployed during the stop also alerted to the presence of narcotics inside of the vehicle.

Deputies located a quantity of narcotics inside of the vehicle, plus, a large amount of cash.

Black was placed under arrest and transported to the Oconee County Detention Center.

Due to the narcotics discovered inside of the vehicle, the investigation has been turned over to the Narcotics Division.

According to the arrest warrant, Black is charged with having more than 400 grams of Methamphetamine in her possession.

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation.
