A Fountain Inn man has been arrested for attempted murder. 

A press release from Greenville Police states that 39 year-old  Kenyatta Shubakus Burnside reportedly forced his way into a home on Jenkins Street, pulled out a rifle and fired several shots at his former girlfriend as she ran toward a neighbor’s home for safety.

The victim’s current boyfriend and her 12-year-old child were both in the home when the shooting took place.

According to witnesses, Burnside then took off in a silver colored car.

On Tuesday, Burnside was taken into custody in Easley and charged with three counts of attempted murder, burglary and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

No one was injured in the shooting.

(GREENVILLE)- A 39-year-old Fountain Inn man is now behind bars for the attempted murder of his former girlfriend, her 12-year-old child, and her current boyfriend after he broke into the victim’s home last week.

 The terrifying incident began around noon on November 5 when Kenyatta Shubakus Burnside forced his way into a residence on Jenkins Street.

He displayed a rifle and fired multiple rounds at the former girlfriend as she frantically ran toward a neighbor’s home. 

Witnesses told police that Burnside fled the area in a silver sedan.   

No injuries were reported following the attack.

Members of the U.S. Marshals Service Taskforce apprehended Burnside, who is the biological father of the child, today in Easley without incident.

Charges include three counts of Attempted Murder, Burglary, and Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime.
