The traffic stop, arrest and arrest warrant were conducted and obtained by the Traffic Enforcement Officer working as part of the Pro-Active Criminal Enforcement (P.A.C.E.) unit.

The Traffic Enforcement Officer’s position was made possible by a grant.

Kilburn has been charged with one count each of Trafficking in Methamphetamine, two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance (one count for Ecstasy and one count for Acetaminophen/Hydrocodone), one count of Possession of Cocaine, two counts of Unlawful Carrying of a Pistol, one count of Possession of a Stolen Weapon and one count of Possession of a Weapon during Commission of a Violent Crime.

Wednesday morning, the Traffic Enforcement Officer, while on routine patrol, observed a burgundy Mercedes-Benz traveling with a 45 day plate which is no longer in use in the state.

The officer initiated a traffic stop, which occurred on E.S. 6th Street in Seneca.

When making contact with the driver, identified as Kilburn, the officer detected an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.

Kilburn also told the officer that there was no insurance on the vehicle and the only paperwork Kilburn could produce for the vehicle was the vehicle title.

A search of the vehicle produced two firearms inside the vehicle with one of the firearms coming back as stolen.  A quantity of narcotics was discovered inside of the vehicle as well.

Kilburn was arrested and transported to the Oconee County Detention Center, where he was served with eight arrest warrants.

At this time, Kilburn remains in custody at the Detention Center.
