Warrants Served in Attempted Murder Investigation

The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office has served arrest warrants on four individuals involved in an attempted murder investigation.

Kayla Marie Brown, 28, Wilbur Lou Vanadore, 50, Stanley Thomas Vanadore, 50, and Brandon Dean Pressley, 37, all of Anderson have each been charged with one count of attempted murder.  Kayla Brown, and Wilbur Vanadore have also each been charged with one count of Possession of a weapon during a violent crime.



On March 18, 2017 at about 6:15pm, deputies responded to the report of a stabbing at a residence on Anthony Drive in Anderson County. John Daniel Brown was assaulted multiple times by the above listed suspects.  He was shot at twice by his wife (Kayla Brown) outside his residence and then assaulted multiple times by his father-in-law (Stanley Vanadore) and his wife’s cousin (Brandon Pressley).

   As he attempted to flee by running down the street, J. Brown was followed by his mother-in-law (Wilbur Lou Vanadore) in her vehicle.  J. Brown was subsequently struck by his mother-in-law’s vehicle and        knocked to the ground.  At some point, the mother-in-law reportedly got out of her vehicle and stabbed J. Brown in the back.  J. Brown did have a stab wound to the right side of his back. J. Brown was transported   to the hospital for treatment of his injuries and has been released.

K. Brown, W. Vanadore, and S. Vanadore are currently incarcerated at the Anderson County Detention Center.  B. Pressley has been released on bond.
