The mother who lost her four children in a car crash is asking for the driver of the car to be released from jail. Evan Smith has the latest:

Jacqueline Brown spoke through tears as she pleaded with the judge to release the man who was intoxicated behind the wheel of the van in which her four children were killed.

She said that her boyfriend, Arnez Jamison, has suffered enough since the children died back in December.

But Judge Cordell Maddox Jr did not grant that request, denying Jamison’s request for bond.

Jamison, a 27 year old Greenville man, was charged with four counts of felony DUI resulting in death. He was the father of two of the four children who died in the crash, though he acted as a father figure to all of them.

In court, new details also emerged about the circumstances surrounding the crash, with witnesses reporting that about a half hour past midnight they saw Jamison going well over the speed limit and swerving, prior to the van going off the road, down an embankment and smashing into a tree.

There were no child seats in the van.

Jamison tested positive for marijuana and Xanax at the time of the crash, and apparently had no memory of even driving the children.
