Power Out For Thousands

Most should be restored by 9PM

(Greenville, SC) -- Another round of strong afternoon thunderstorms has knocked out power for thousands of Duke Energy customers. 

As of 5PM, over 4,300 customers are without electricity in Greenville County, over 1,400 in Cherokee County, over 700 in Spartanburg County, over 600 in Pickens County and just over 200 in Anderson County. 

The Duke Energy Outage Map website indicates that power should be restored by 9PM in Greenville County and by midnight in Spartanburg County.  Crews are still accessing the damage in the other upstate counties affected.
