The Oconee County Sheriff's Office issued the following press release Thursday.

(Walhalla, SC) - The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a suspect yesterday evening that was wanted on charges related to a January 13th, 2020 shooting on the Utica Mill Hill.

39 year old Justin Patrick Picard (a.k.a. Patrick “Hype” Wallace) of Seneca was arrested by deputies from the Criminal Investigations Division and the Uniform Patrol Division after a traffic stop on a vehicle on Wells Highway near Clydesdale Road.

Picard had been charged by the Sheriff’s Office with Attempted Murder and Possession of a Weapon during Commission of a Violent Crime in relation to the shooting.

Investigators accuse Picard in arrest warrants of being present during the shooting of the victim, accomplishing the crime as an accomplice, which also implicates Picard as being armed with a deadly weapon. 

Picard was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 11:40pm yesterday.
