Radiothon To Benefit GHS Children’s Hospital

Entercom Upstate and the Greenville Health System present their annual Radiothon fundraising event this Thursday and Friday, August 3 and 4. Proceeds from the broadcast will benefit the GHS Children’s Hospital.

The telethon will broadcast live from the lobby of the Greenville Health System from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on each of the seven Entercom stations: B93.7, 93.3 The Planet, 96.3 The Block, Magic 98.9, Classic Rock 101.1, 106.3 WORD, and ESPN Upstate.

The event is open to the public and will feature on-air vignettes looking back on former and current patients of the hospital and their families, live interviews with doctors of the GHS Children’s Hospital, and meet and greets with on-air personalities from Entercom. Radiothon on-air personality appearances include Hawk N Tom, The Rise Guys, Bob McLain, Tara Servatius, Sheri Taylor, Stoneman, JJ Solomon, Greg McKinney, Mark Sturgis, amongst others.

More than $2.6 million has been raised for Children’s Hospital of Greenville Health System (GHS) through Radiothon over the past nine years. The money funds many of the support services offered by Children’s Hospital to make hospital stays less scary for patients and families, including facility dogs, blanket warmers, distraction therapies, sleeping chairs for parents and Camp Courage scholarships for patients with cancers and blood disorders These services are considered part of the Dream Gap, the array of services not covered under a normal operating budget. GHS Children's Hospital serves all of upstate South Carolina, western North Carolina and eastern Georgia. The money raised during Radiothon impacts more than 400,000 visitors each year.
