Families and friends of Greenville County deputies and city police officers who lost their lives in the line of duty gathered at midday at the Law Enforcement Center.

City Police Chief Ken Miller said it’s not just the fallen officers who made sacrifices.  Their families and friends also make sacrifices.

“As we dutifully and humbly remember the 42 heroes memorialized here, officers who gave us every measure of devotion, please know that we also honor you,” Miller said, addressing the officers’ families and friends, “for the sacrifices you continue to endure for your loved ones’ service.”

The Blood Connection conducted a memorial blood drive Tuesday in the Law Enforcement Center parking lot. Donors received enforcement commemorative T-shirts.
