The City of Greenville's downtown City Hall is in need some repairs.  Engineers think the problem could be in the materials that were used when they originally built it and that's why they are getting water in the building.

The basement at City Hall has flooded and they know water is getting in somehow.  It turns out that the Italian marble that covers the outside of the building around the stairwells and elevator is porous and that’s how the water has been getting in.  The engineering company working on the project says the repair cost is going to be around $2.5 million, but the city hopes they can negotiate that down.

The good news is that they believe it can be repaired.

But as the structure ages, they are running into other problems, too, like old AC, heating and elevators where parts are getting hard to come by.
