Update: Seneca Sporting Store burglarized

UPDATE:

William Kyle Melvin of Seneca was arrested August 6, 2019 in the theft of The Fishing Hole in late July.  Thirty thousand dollars worth of merchandise was stolen.

Melvin is currently being held at the Oconee County Detention Center. 

The Oconee County Sheriff's Office is still seeking the publics help as all stolen items still need to be recovered.  If you or if anyone you know is in possession of the stolen goods, they can be returned to the Sheriff's Office WITHOUT CRIMINAL PENALTY UNTIL THE END OF AUGUST.

Oconee County Sheriff's Office

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office has arrested William Kyle Melvin of Seneca for the burglary of The Fishing Hole on August 6th, 2019.

Melvin has been charged with Burglary Second Degree, Malicious Injury to Real Property, and Petit Larceny <$2000.

He is currently being held at the Oconee County Detention Center where a judge has set his surety bond at $60,000.

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is aware that the stolen items have been disseminated to individuals well known by law enforcement.

If you or anyone you know is in possession of any of these stolen items, they can be returned to the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office without criminal penalty through the end of August.

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in locating the suspect responsible for the burglary of The Fishing Hole business in Seneca.

On July 23rd, 2019 Oconee County Sheriff’s Office deputies’ responded to 590 JP Stevens Road (The Fishing Hole) in Seneca in response to a break-in.

Sheriff’s Office deputies processed the scene and determined that over $30,000 worth of merchandise was stolen from this business.
