Who is the leading contender for the Democratic nomination for President in 2020 in South Carolina?  Someone not even officially running yet.

The national frontrunner right now, in terms of raising money, is Bernie Sanders.  But here in South Carolina, former Vice President Joe Biden is leading in a new poll.

Change Research’s on line poll taken between February 15 and 18, finds that registered voters in the state, no matter what party, (Democrat, Republican and Independent,) rank Biden tops for the democratic choice – followed by Senators Kamala Harris, Cory Booker and Bernie Sanders.

Of the 600 Democrats polled who say they plan to vote in the primary, the polling firm says 36% said they would vote for Biden.  Sanders received 14%, followed by Harris at 13%.  Booker, along with Senator Elizabeth Warren and former Texas congressman Beto O’Rourke each got 10%.

The poll also found that 62% of Republican voters would like a 2020 GOP presidential primary here in South Carolina.
