Several Students Sent To Hospital

After bus crashes in two different districts

Several students were taken to the hospital late Monday afternoon after two separate crashes, in two separate districts, involving school buses.

Laurens District 55 said there were three high school students and two middle school students on board when a bus crashed on Monday afternoon. The crash occurred shortly after 4:30 and the incident happened when the bus was involved in a head-on collision with an automobile. A district spokesperson said the vehicles were damaged but no injuries were reported.

Next shortly after four Monday afternoon three more students were taken to the hospital as a precaution after a school bus crash according to a spokesman with Anderson County District 5. The crash happened in Anderson on Highway 28 and West Whitner Street. The students on the bus were from Westside High School and Robert Anderson Middle School. The injuries are not believed to be serious.
