Dan Sharp filed on Monday to officially enter the race for Probate Judge in Anderson County.  Sharp is running to fill the seat Judge Martha Newton has held for 35 years.

When making the decision to run for Probate Judge Sharp said, “It’s time for bold, new leadership in Anderson County.  Everyone appreciates the service Judge Newton has given to the people of Anderson County, but now it’s time to look towards the future and I’m excited about what we can accomplish.”

“We must reform our probate court.  We need to modernize our technology, focus on constituent services, and restructure the office to serve the people better.  I will hold the office to the highest possible ethical standards and make sure mental health issues before the court is a top priority.  I will always be accessible and accountable to the people of Anderson County.”

Dan Sharp is a resident of Anderson County and a graduate of Lander University.  Dan and his wife Christine are the proud parents of two children, John and Elizabeth.  Sharp currently serves as a Magistrate Judge with the Anderson County Summary Court.  He is a member of Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church in Sandy Springs and a member of the Anderson County Republican Party.
