A mother in South Carolina in renewing her $500 reward for anyone who might have information that her son didn't jump off a bridge on his own or fall over accidentally.

Bertha Thomas said she can't find closure in her son's 1997 death in Lake Greenwood.

Thomas told The Index-Journal of Greenwood her 19-year-old son couldn't swim and was so scared of water he would take showers instead of baths.

A coroner held an inquest after James Hawkins died. A man testified he was driving Hawkins around on July 15, 1997, when the teen asked him to stop on the bridge.

The driver says Hawkins gave him his pager and $50, shook his hand, then jumped.

Thomas says she was told her son was at a restaurant at that time.
