Spartanburg County Deputy Arrested

After domestic violence incident

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division said a Spartanburg County deputy has been arrested in connection with a domestic violence incident.

According to arrest warrants, 41-year-old Gary Samuel Watson Jr. choked a woman and a child at their home on Rexford Drive.

Watson is also accused of pulling a gun on the child. According to the warrant, he did not point the gun in self-defense.

Watson is charged with first-degree domestic violence, pointing and presenting a firearm at a person and unlawful neglect of a child.

He is currently being held at the Spartanburg County Detention Center.
