There's a special election in Greenville County today.  House District 19 voters will choose between Democrat Carrie Counton and Republican Patrick Haddon

District 19 encompasses an area on the westside of Greenville County south of Furman University.

Today's vote is the final contest in a series of primaries and special elections set into motion by former State Senator William Timmons resigning his seat after winning the 4th Congresssional District seat in the US House of Representatives in November.

The former occupant of the House District 19 seat, Dwight Loftis, was then elected to the State Senate District 6 seat in March.

Polls are open from 7AM to 7PM.
