The Swamp Rabbit Trail is so popular that students from one Greenville school are trying to raise money to link their school to the trail.  It's called the Lakeview Link.

So far, students at Lakeview Middle School have raised nearly $300 to build that trail that would link their school to the GHS Swamp Rabbit Trail. But they have a long way to go. $100,000 needs to be raised July 1, 2018, if the Lakeview Link is going to happen.  Bike Walk Greenville is raising the funds for the trail, which will be 4/10 mile long.

80% of the 575 students at the school live less than a mile from it and need to walk or bike to school every day.  Many say they don’t feel safe right now walking and biking along Old Buncombe and Sulphur Springs Roads with speeding traffic. They’re hoping for the public to help raise the funds to complete the project, which will also help the local community around Berea and Sans Souci.

Check out this video about the project, which includes students.
