Superhero 5K and Fun Run

(Greenville, SC)--The Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club is hosting a Superhero 5K and Fun Run on August 11, 2018,  at the Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center. The 5K will begin at 8 a.m., and the fun run will begin at 9 a.m.

The Superhero 5K and Fun Run costs $35 (18 years and older), $25 (13-17 years) or $15 (12 and under), and the fun run costs $10 (participants will receive a free scoop of Kilwins ice cream). Participants are encouraged to dress as their favorites superheroes, and all costumed participants will be automatically entered into a costume contest. Awards will be given to the best costume in 4 categories: adult, teen, youth and group. Awards will also be given to the male and female with the fastest times in adult, teen and youth categories. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Greenville.

The Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club helps 400 young people through its year-round programming. The Boys and Girls Club offers an afterschool program, which provides youth with homework assistance, tutoring and physical activities, and summer day camp, which features day outings, educational activities and more. The Boys and Girls Club seeks to build better futures for local youth, and it helps shape young people into productive, caring and responsible citizens.
