Eviction notice for former deputy

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office says that SWAT teams and SLED were called in to deal with a barricaded subject who was once a former deputy.

Sheriff Mike Crenshaw said deputies were trying to serve an eviction notice on a former Oconee County deputy when the suspect decided to barricade themselves inside their residence. It remains unclear what kind of weapons the suspect may have had on his person at the time. 

Seneca Police say the standoff took Place at Crescent Point Apartments

Shortly after two this afternoon SLED announced that the suspect is in custody but no identity has yet been released.

The suspect will be charged with interference with due process. He has been transported to a detention facility outside Oconee County. 

No shots were fired during the standoff and no one was injured.
