Hazmat crews and state troopers have been cleaning up in Belton after a fuel tanker turned over in Anderson county Tuesday morning.

The tanker struck a utility poll as well as a home.

The crash happened on Murphy Rd. near C&K Drive in Belton. It was reported around 7:20 a.m. Troopers say the tanker was heading south when it overturned after hitting a ditch. It slid into a utility poll and then a house.

Firefighters say that nearly a 1,000 of the 4,000 gallons of aviation fuel the tanker was carrying spilled in the crash.

The driver, who has been cited for driving too fast for conditions, was not injured and no other vehicles were involved.
