The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Herndon, Virginia teenager yesterday on a charge of Filing a False Police Report of a Felony

18 year old Sarah Katherine Campbell of Grants Street was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 4:34pm.  She was released from the Detention Center yesterday on a $5,000 personal recognizance bond.

Deputies from the Uniform Patrol Division were notified during the early morning hours of Saturday, January 27th by the Clemson University Police Department of a reported sexual assault that occurred at the Delta Chi Fraternity House near Seneca.

Deputies spoke with Campbell, who was the reported victim of the assault and started an investigation which was turned over to the Criminal Investigations Unit of the Sheriff’s Office.

As the investigation continued and evidence was gathered in the case and based upon that evidence, it was determined that the sexual relations between Campbell and the male at the Fraternity House was consensual and that Campbell had not been truthful in the information that she provided to the investigator in the case.

Based upon that evidence, the investigator had probable cause to obtain an arrest warrant against Campbell.
