In regards to the bank robbery that occurred today at the Bank of America, Greenville County Investigators have arrested 36 year-old, William Kevin Crawford, after he was located at a nearby Motel 6.

As indicated in a previous release, Crawford entered the bank and demanded cash after implying he was armed with a gun. Crawford then fled the bank and a short time later deputies received information that he was potentially spotted at the Motel 6, located at 2015 Wade Hampton blvd.

Within moments, deputies canvassing the area were able to make contact with Crawford.

Crawford is currently in the Greenville County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing for the charges of Armed Robbery and Interfering with a bank with the Intent to Steal.


From the Greenville County Sheriff's Office:

Deputies from the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office  responded to the Bank of America, located at 2003 Wade Hampton Boulevard, in regards to a bank robbery.

Information is limited at this time, however we can tell you that at around 11:40am we received a call regarding a white male, wearing all black, who came into the bank and implied he had a gun.

The suspect demanded cash and left with any undisclosed amount.

Investigators currently have a suspect in custody. The investigation is ongoing, and we will release his identity as soon as it is confirmed.

No injuries have been reported.
