UPDATE: Shooting at Greenville Nightclub

UPDATE: Investigators with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Unit have charged 30 year-old, Brandon Jamaine Dodd with Attempted Murder and Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime.

Investigators learned that around 3:15am, the on-site security noticed a crowd congregating in the rear parking lot of the club.  Shortly later, Dodd was observed firing a handgun at the victim, striking him at least one time.  At least 2 armed security personnel returned fire at the suspect, striking him at least once.  We do not know what led to the shooting itself, other than some sort of altercation.

The victim was taken to the hospital and is expected to recover after sustaining non-life threatening injuries.  Dodd was detained by security until deputies arrived on scene and shortly later, was transported to the hospital, with non-life threatening injuries.  The firearm used by Dodd was located at the scene.

Upon release from the hospital Dodd will be transported to the Greenville County Detention Center for a bond hearing.

Side Note: This year to-date, the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office have responded to 46 calls for service at Symposium, located at 3410 Augusta Road, to include 8 weapons related calls, 9 disturbances, 5 assaults, and an armed robbery.


Two people are hospitlized after a shooting early this morning at Symposium Ultra Lounge on Augusta Road in Greenville. 

Witnesses told deputies that two people got into an argument, then one person opened fire and shot another person at least once.  A club security guard then shot the armed club patron.  No word yet on the condition of the injured.
