The South Carolina Highway Patrol has charged a Honea Path man with several crimes relating to a crash that claimed a 7-year old’s life and sent three others to the hospital.

35-year old Donald Jerry Harris is charged with felony driving under the influence resulting in death, felony driving under the influence resulting in great bodily injury, child endangerment, and driving under suspension.

The police report states a 7-year old girl was killed and four others hurt after the single-car crash on Tornado Road. Troopers say Harris and a woman were thrown from the vehicle as they were not wearing seat belts.
