The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office and the Coroner's Office, are investigating an apparent accidental shooting that occurred Wednesday night in a moving vehicle in the Cedar Springs area.

All preliminary indications suggest that 18 year old Caleb Jamar Elijah Roach of Spartanburg was accidentally shot, but investigators will be meeting with the Solicitor's Office Thursday to determine if any criminal charges are applicable.

The Sheriff's office said all parties involved in the incident have been identified and interviewed, and there is no threat to the public.

Local media is reporting that Roach was a student at Spartanburg High School, which makes this the second student death the school has faced this year.
