Former Greenville County Sheriff Will Lewis has just been indicted by a grand jury.

On Tuesday morning, the grand jury of Greenville County indicted Lewis on charges of statutory misconduct in office and one count of perjury.

Lewis most recently made headlines back in January, when he asked the court to quash his criminal indictments of misconduct in office and obstruction of justice.

Those charges stem from Lewis’ suspension back in April of 2019 after allegations of sexual harassment and assault from a former assistant.

That assistant, Savanah Nabors, had filed a civil lawsuit alleging a sexual assault while on a work trip to Charlotte in March of 2017.

Lewis, who was married at the time, maintained the affair was consensual.

A settlement was reached in October for that lawsuit but no detail were made public.

There are no more details to report at this time on the latest indictments.
