A woman has filed a lawsuit against the Greenville Health System after the Upstate woman is claiming the hospital released details of a sexual assault to law enforcement and her insurance company without her consent.

The lawsuit says in the early morning hours of May 14 the woman was drugged and assaulted by an acquaintance in the bathroom of a downtown Greenville restaurant.

The next day, she said she went to the Emergency Room to have a rape kit performed on her.

The lawsuit states she never consented for the hospital visit to be filed with her private insurance or the Greer Police to be notified of the incident.

When contacted by 1063 WORD news, a spokesperson for GHS said "We can't comment on pending litigation"
