After Pete Frates was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's diseas, also known as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis in 2012, he became a hero. He is the man behind the 'ALS Ice Bucket Challenge' which raised more than $220 million for the disease.

According to People, the 32-year-old is now almost completely paralyzed and doesn't have enough money to receive his own care. Frates is trying to raise money again, however, this time it's for himself. The devastating incurable disease is costing Frates and his family between $2,400 and $3,000 per day.

Peter Frates took to twitter (July 4) to share a photo from the hospital.
