City Scape Winery

Throughout the month of May 106.3 WORD is highlighting small businesses in the Upstate. Today, we are taking a look at a City Scape Winery.

Located in Pelzer, City Scape is the only winery in Greenville County.  It is owned by Josh and Deborah Jones, a couple who took their passion for wine and turned it into one of the more unique wine tasting experiences in the Upstate.

They took over the winery in 2015, and moved it from just outside downtown Greenville all the way to Pelzer. Now, nestled in the country, you get a quiet experience while being able to talk through the rows of grape vines, petting their goats, or hanging out with Pinot the Pig.

In talking with the couple, I learned that this is truly a family run business, as Josh's parents moved to South Carolina to help work at the winery.

Just because Josh and Deborah aren't originally from here, does not mean they don't get the importance of community. They have partnered up with Happy Cow Creamery for City Scape's cheese and sausage plate, as well as other local vineyards that grow certain types of grapes that can't be grown at City Scape, not to mention the fundraising work they do with other local businesses and organizations.
